The 3D coordinates of measured point is embodied in 2D image coordinate of the optical characteristic point via the visual measurement system. Based on the gray square weighted centroid localization algorithm  the paper presents bicubic interpolation gray square weighted centroid localization algorithm  increases the number of effective pixels around the optical characteristic point imaging center  and reduces noise error via the gray square weighted  improves the imaging center location accuracy of optical characteristic point  realizes the accurate location of the optical characteristic points. Results indicate application of the proposed algorithm to location  the standard tolerance along the direction of x is 0.0022 Pixel  the standard tolerance along the direction of y is 0.0023 Pixel  compared with the others  the standard tolerance is minimum and discrete to a lesser degree distancing ideal image point  that is  the proposed algorithm has higher location accuracy. The maximum tolerance along the direction of x is 0.008 Pixel  the one along the direction of y is 0.007 Pixel  compared with the other two algorithms  the maximum tolerance is minimum.Results indicate that the stability of the proposed algorithm is better. The traditional Hausdorff measure, which uses Euclidean distance metric (L2 norm) to define the distance between coordinates of any two points, has poor performance in the presence of the rotation and scale change although it is robust to the noise and occlusion. To address the problem, we define a novel similarity function including two parts in this paper. The first part is Hausdorff distance between shapes which is calculated by exploiting shape context that is rotation and scale invariant as the distance metric. The second part is the cost of matching between centroids. Unlike the traditional method, we use the centroid as reference point to obtain its shape context that embodies global information of the shape. Experiment results demonstrate that the function value between shapes is rotation and scale invariant and the matching accuracy of our algorithm is higher than that of previously proposed algorithm on the MEPG-7 database.

To solve the best-fit sphere (BFS) accurately is one of the technological keys for the generating and testing of optical aspherical surfaces. This paper presents a new algorithm for solving the BFS of aspherical surfaces to suppress some deficiencies in the existing BFS algorithms. In the proposed approach  it is not only suitable for the conic surface  a BFS is constructed  but also for higher order aspheres. The obtained asphericity and material removal function is more suitable for the machining and test. (2012) Trans Tech Publications  which passes through both sides of endpoints in the section o -?xy of the aspherical surfaces  Switzerland.  the center of the BFS is shifted along the x-axis  and its radius of curvature is automatically computed. The variable step size method is proposed to speed up the convergence of the iteration. Through numerically solving the BFS of conic and cubic surface  the advantages of the proposed approach are verified. The results show that the proposed approach is of rapid convergence  and high accuracy

Large aperture collimator which has been widely used for calibrating and testing various optical devices plays an essential role in correlative laboratories. As being the basic testing and calibration equipment  the large aperture collimator's accuracy should be much higher than the device under testing in order to ensure the accuracy of the measurement. However  the process of adjusting the collimator is extremely complicated due to the collimator's large aperture and long focal length. So it is difficult to ensure the measurement's quality and easy to cause the system being vulnerable to the surrounding environment. One of the most common problems is defocus. In order to solve the problem above  this issue presents a new type of autocollimator autofocusing system which uses pentaprism instead of using large-aperture plane mirror  semiconductor lasers as light source and CCD sensor as receiver. The system is smaller  lighter  and more convenient when using. The computer simulation shows that the autofocusing system's resolution could reach the accuracy of 40m. If we use the relevant algorithms to execute the sub-pixel scanning  the resolution could reach the accuracy of 10m. It shows that the system could satisfy the required testing precision of testing large aperture optical device.

E-O stabilization platform performance is partly decided by gyroscope precision  so it is important to choose a gyroscope with proper accuracy for an E-O stabilization platform. Based on the method of using a gyroscope in practice  gyroscope error model is established. With the gyroscope error model gyroscope accuracy parameters  that is bias repeatability  bias stability  scale factor  scale factor nonlinearity  output noise and bandwidth  are separately analyzed. According to the concretely required performance indices for an E-O platform  means of distribution of gyroscope accuracy parameters is proposed. A MEMS gyroscope is tested to get the parameters. Bias stability of the gyroscope is 0.08 /s while the bandwidth is 60 Hz. Output noise both at zero input and at nonzero input is analyzed by means of PSD to get the result that nonzero output noise is higher than zero output noise. Frequency response result of the gyroscope is dealt by means of correlation analysis. With all the tested result and the method of distribution of gyroscope accuracy parameters  it is clear that how the gyroscope errors works in an E-O servo system. The principle of distribution of gyroscope accuracy parameters is helpful for choosing appropriate gyroscope for an E-O platform. 2011 IEEE.
