There exist complex gray mapping relationships among infrared and visible images because of the different imaging mechanisms. The difficulty of infrared and visible image registration is to find a reasonable similarity definition. In this paper, we develop a novel image similarity called implicit linesegment similarity(ILS) and a registration algorithm of infrared and visible images based on ILS. Essentially, the algorithm achieves image registration by aligning the corresponding line segment features in two images. First, we extract line segment features and record their coordinate positions in one of the images, and map these line segments into the second image based on the geometric transformation model. Then we iteratively maximize the degree of similarity between the line segment features and correspondence regions in the second image to obtain the model parameters. The advantage of doing this is no need directly measuring the gray similarity between the two images. We adopt a multi-resolution analysis method to calculate the model parameters from coarse to fine on Gaussian scale space. The geometric transformation parameters are finally obtained by the improved Powell algorithm. Comparative experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively achieve the automatic registration for infrared and visible images, and under considerable accuracy it makes a more significant improvement on computational efficiency and anti-noise ability than previously proposed algorithms.

With the development of optical information processing  high-resolution Fourier transform lens has often been used in holographic data storage system  spatial filtering and observation of particles. This paper studies the optical design method of high-resolution Fourier transform optical lenses system  which could be used in particles observation and holographic data storage system. According to Fourier transform relation between object and its frequency plane and the theory of geometrical optics  the system with working wavelength 532nm and resolution 3 m was designed based on ZEMAX. A multi-configuration method was adopted to optimize the system's lenses. In the optical system  a diaphragm was placed at the system's spectrum plane and the system demanded a low vacuum to cut down the influences of atmosphere and other particles. The result of finite element analysis indicated that the influences of vacuum pumping to optics spacing and mirror surface shape very minor  and the imaging quality not being affected. This system has many advantages  such as simple structure  good image quality and a high resolution of 3 m. So it has a wide application prospect and can be used both in holographic data storage system and particles observation.

In many computer vision tasks  in order to improve the accuracy and robustness to the noise  wavelet analysis is preferred for the natural multi-resolution property. However  the wavelet representation suffers from the dependency of the starting point of the sampled contour. For overcoming the problem that the wavelet representation depends on the starting point of the sampled contour  the Zernike moments are introduced  and a novel Starting-Point-lndependent wavelet coefficient shape matching algorithm is presented. The proposed matching algorithm firstly gains the object contours  and give the translation and scale invariant object shape representation. The object shape representation is converted to the dyadic wavelet representation by the wavelet transform. And then calculate the Zernike moments of wavelet representation in different scales. With respect to property of rotation invariant of Zernike moments  consider the Zernike moments as the feature vector to calculate the dissimilarity between the object and template image  which overcoming the problem of dependency of starting point. The experimental results have proved the proposed algorithm to be efficient  precise  and robust.
