Computer-generated holograms (CGH) have been widely used for years in optical testing of aspheric surfaces in combination with Fizeau interferometers. With the development of diffraction optics
computer technology
and micro-processing technology
the accuracy of the CGH testing can achieve a hundredth of a wave
and the cost is reduced greatly. CGH is capable of producing an optical wavefront with any desired shape. So it is fascinating and will have good prospects to test free-form surfaces using CGH. As the CGH can create any wavefront shape
it can also be used in unsymmetrical aspherical surfaces testing. Taking the cubic surface as an example
this paper gives a method to test unsymmetrical surfaces. This paper gives the design to test a cubic surface. And the separation of the diffraction orders and the binary process of the continuous CGH phase function are discussed in detail. The alignment tolerance of the test system and the CGH fabrication tolerance are analyzed. We also present an idea using a CGH and two spherical lenses as null lens to test the cubic surface when the surface deviation is great. 2011 IEEE.

To a supersonic missile
a seeker could enhance the aerodynamic ability due to decrease the resistance in flying. At the same time
the primary function of a seeker has been considered as the most important equipment for a missile
due to the importance for cueing of targets and tracking for the final approach. However
the dome of a seeker
which is made up of glass
has poor mechanical performance. Especially
in the higher altitude
for a dome
in which the aerothermal and pressure loads could destroy the structure easily
it is necessary to do the thermal-structure coupled analysis due to varied materials. In the paper
to take the spherical dome of a seeker as a example
the analysis has been completed according to the varied materials consist of MgF2
Al2O3 and ZnS. The temperature loads and the pressure loads derived from the results of fluent analysis has been forced on the surface of dome
which simulates the actual Mach 2.5 in flying. According to the results of coupled analysis
the SEQV stress of the dome radium 80mm based on three materials had reached to 31MPa
which shows that the strength is sufficient for Mach 2.5
and offered the warranty to design the attaching to missile for the dome. At the same time
the results required the flexible mounting for the dome due to the displacements results
which the crystal material couldn't accept. 2011 IEEE.

Using a spherical mirror of 400mm diameter and 12mm thickness
active supporting technology of thin mirror is researched. The axial support of the mirror is composed of 12 active supports and 3 fixed supports. The force actuator
which is composed of displacement actuator and force sensor
is installed in the active support. The mirror surface is tested by Zygo interferometer. For calibration
each actuator exerts unit force alone
and the surface variation is tested and taken as the response function of the actuator. The response functions of all actuators compose the stiffness matrix. Then the stiffness matrix is used by damped least square method to determine the correction force of each active support. In order to analyze the correction capability of the active supports
14 Zernike modes of the mirror surface are generated and tested respectively
and 7 modes are selected for correction. Initially
the RMS error of mirror surface is 1.16 I( =0.6328nm)when all actuators exert the same force. After 5 iterations
the RMS error of mirror surface is reduced to 0.13

To obtain a number of advantages in fabrication
testing and alignment
many designs in which spherical mirrors replace classical Cassegrain-form aspheric mirrors are present in the literature. However
spherical mirrors suffer from substantial spherical aberration and thereby require some form of corrector group. But in this case
the question encountered is that of making the basic optical configuration more complex. In this paper
a new design based on Cooke corrector group is presented for eliminating spherical aberration
which is believed to provide higher performance with less complexity than previous approaches. Besides
the cost and fabrication period will be extremely decreased. The telescope system using corrector group here can achieve good optical performance with f# of 10
full field of 0.5
obscuration of 1/3 and MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) of 0.48 corresponding to 50@lp/mm. 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.
