In order to improve the measuring accuracy of the visible light phase-shifting point diffraction interferometer (PS/PDI) for the extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) aspheric mirrors  the main measuring errors will be discussed in this paper. At first  the elementary configuration and measuring principle of the visible light phase-shifting point diffraction interferometer are introduced briefly  then the different errors which are possible to affect the measuring result are summed up  the errors include PZT phase-shifting error  detector nonlinearity error  detector quantization error  wavelength instability error and intensity instability error of the laser source  vibration error  air refractivity instability error and so on. Through detailed analysis and simulation  the magnitude of these errors can be obtained. By analysing the reasons which cause these errors and the relationship between these errors and interferometer configuration parameters  some methods are put forward to avoid or restrain these errors accordingly.

A digital mirror device (DMD) based light projector was developed as the target generator in modulation transfer function (MTF) measurement. In order to overcome the sampling-scene phase effect in MTF measurement of sampled imaging systems  a method using random targets is introduced to yield a phase-averaged MTF. The main potential problem of implementing this method is the fact that the stationary assumption of the random targets may be vitiated in practical measurement  especially in field test due to the ill condition. We provide an efficient model-independent way of analyzing and isolating the spectral contents arising from these additional contributions to MTF measurement. Algorithms with adaptive parameter selection were also developed for spectral estimation of the test image in order to overcome the challenge brought by the size limit of the test matrices for one certain field of view derived from the isoplantic region. The MTF measurement of a CCD video imager is used to demonstrate the measurement technique and illustrate the benefits over other methods. In order to validate the results  comparisons have been made between MTF measurements of imager implemented using this method and bar target direct measurements. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

The main feature of the compound diffractive telescope is the combination of diffractive optics with compound structure arranged eyepieces. In this paper  a design of the compound diffractive telescope is firstly introduced  and a 4.2 FOV is obtained with one primary lens and twenty-one eyepieces. Secondly  image characteristic of different channels is analyzed with the design wavelength in ASAP  and one modified phase function model of diffractive optical element is introduced to analyze the MTF curves for 0 FOV  which provides a more accurate prediction of the performance of the system. Then the system is tested by the star image test  and the diffraction limit images are got within 2 FOV. And finally  two pictures taken from the adjacent FOV proved to be able to be spliced together. All the results above demonstrate that a good performance of the compound diffractive telescope. 2009 SPIE.
