920 nm optically pumped semiconductor vertical external-cavity surface emitting laser (OPS-VECSEL) has an important application in laser display. We constructed and optimized a 920 nm OPS-VECSEL with active region of In0.09Ga0.91As quantum well (QW) system pumped by 808 nm laser diode module. By the finite element method  self-consistent solutions of the semiconductor electronic and optical equations are realized to calculate the characteristics parameters of OPS-VECSEL. The performances of device especially the mode  the threshold and the optical-optical translation efficiency were analyzed by dealing with different number of QWs (1  2 and 3) in one period  QW depth  barrier width  the component and dimension of the non-absorption layer. We chose an improved structure of them. On this basis  we ameliorated the number of QW periods and the simulation showed that in order to obtain high performance device  the choice of the number of QW periods must be cautious. In order to satisfy requirements of real time and parallel control for the space optical remote sensor and implement the high integration of software  a kind of VxWorks-based multitask software architecture was put forward. Firstly  the technological requirements of optical remote sensor were analyzed in detail and functions and performances of the optical remote sensor were fixed. Task that was based on each function of optical remote sensor was compartmentalized. Then  software architecture of optical remote sensor was designed. Finally  experiments were carried out and results verified the accuracy and feasibility of the software architecture. Test results showed that the software architecture satisfied the requirements of real time and parallel control for the space optical remote sensor  its functions and performances met the system design target perfectly  and the software architecture was applicable to the engineering application of space instrument. 2011 IEEE.

The magnitude requirement of space target detecting determines that the image of detecting telescope should have several performances: small spots  the wider field of view  small 80% encircled energy diameter and good MTF(Modulation transfer function). So the aperture and field of view of optical system have some demands accordingly. The larger aperture  the more extensive range which the telescope searches. Now most of ground telescopes whose apertures are from 500mm to 1000mm is on-axis optical system  the more energy that telescope collects and higher magnitude the telescope detects  so wide field of view becomes the most importance problem. To obtain large relative aperture and wide field of view  the paper introduces a catadioptric telescope with small aperture aspheric refractive corrector  whose conic surface will be used to remove the aberrations due to large relative aperture and wide field of view. As to the optical system  there is only one aspheric refractive corrector  and it is relatively easy for manufacturing because of its concave figure and normal material. The paper gives the example  and optimizes this optical system with ZEMAX program. And then the paper provides a specific analysis program for testing the aspheric refractive corrector. The aperture of this optical system is 750mm  and its relative aperture is 0.82  and the field of view is 3.6 diameter(diagonal). Its structure is simple and the image quality is also very good. 2009 SPIE.

The realisation process and the preliminary tests on the performances of an integrated Mach-Zehnder Interferometer on LiNbO3 (Lithium Niobate) substrate is presented. The microsystem has been obtained by using medium mass Ion Implantation on X-cut Lithium Niobate crystals. The interferometer is formed by integrated optical channel waveguides: the phase shift between the two optical paths has been obtained  1mm 2 cross section and weights a few grams. The power consumption is in the milliwatt range. In the present work results obtained in the spectral window (0.4m-1.1m) will be presented. The performance of the device  without moving parts  evaluated on standard radiation sources  by applying a suitable electric field. The whole device is 60mm long  demonstrates that a spectral resolution better than 0.3nm can be obtained on 400nm spectral windows. The Micro-interferometer has been tested in laboratory with a calibrated cell containing NO2 gas and has demonstrated sensitivity in the ppb range if suitable optical paths are used. Its reduced dimensions and weights make these micro-systems ideal for a wide range of applications  has a 0.57times  spanning from Space Technology  Earth observation for Environment monitoring  to Safety and Security applications.
