Structural design of large aperture mirror is one of the key technologies for space telescope development. To meet the requirements of high stiffness  strength and thermal dimensional stability  some factors such as support scheme  materials selection  lightweight design and flexible support design were taken into account. The three supports location of the mirror was determined according to the modal analytical solution. By adjusting the parameters of flexure hinge  influences of gravity  assembly stress and thermal stress on the mirror were reduced obviously. Finite element analysis (FEA) results indicate that the surface accuracy reach to rms10.2nm and 10.8nm under the gravity along optical axis direction and 5C uniform temperature rise respectively  the fundamental frequency of the mirror component is 268Hz. Dynamics test shows that the first order natural frequency is 256Hz  which shows an error less than 5% compared to FEA results. (2013) Trans Tech Publications  Switzerland.

In order to design and manufacture more excellent airborne photoelectric stable turret  modulus of elasticity of 213 GPa and thermal expansion coefficient of 7.9106/K. The frame has decreased the maximum deformation by by 60% and increased the fundamental frequency by 65% as compared with those of aluminum alloy materials  a new type of aeronautical material-particulate reinforced aluminum matrix composite (SiC/Al composite) is investigated. Several crucial technologies  respectively as shown by finite element analysis results. Those are confirmed by vibration test furthermore. Therefore  such as pressureless infiltration technology  a significant lightening effect is achieved and the thermal control load is also reduced. The test result indicates that the stable accuracy of the system achieves 19.8rad and the optical-axis parallelism of pay load is 0.1mrad. The research applies the SiC/Al composites to airborne photoelectric platforms  interface reaction controls and plate's welding are systematically studied. Then  which makes a effective exploration for the new aeronautical material's application. 2011 IEEE.  using SiC/Al composites  the airborne photoelectric stable turret frame is successfully prepared in density of 2.94 g/ cm3

Silicon carbide (SiC) is a new type candidate material for large-scale lightweight space mirror. Its low thermal distortion  high stiffness  high optical quality  and its dimensional stability are better than other traditional optical substrate materials such as ULE  Zerodure  Beryllium (Be) and so on. In this paper  the lightweight silicon carbide space mirror blank was fabricated by reaction sintering. As a space born mirror material  silicon carbide must be an optical grade ceramic. So we prepared the silicon carbide green body with gel-casting method. Then some carbon materials were supplemented into the green body which will bring reaction-sintering with silicon in a vacuum furnace during 1500-1600C  ultimately the reaction bonded silicon carbide was made. The diameter of SiC space mirror blank we have made is 680mm. If expanding the size of the vacuum furnace  bigger mirror blank can be obtained. The test results show that the mechanical and thermal properties of RB-SiC are excellent with bending strength of 350MPa  fracture toughness of 4.1 MPa·m1/2 and coefficient of thermal expansion(CET) of 2.6710-6/K. The surface roughness(RMS) could be better than 3nm.

Profile error of super smooth surface of optical elements at X-ray/EUV in synchrotron radiation (SR) light beam line is described as slope error of them generally. The Long Trace Profiler (LPT) is used for testing surface slope error of SR optical elements in world generally. It is requisite to use In-suit LTP measuring surface thermal distortion of SR optical elements with high heat under high bright SR source. Authors design an In-suit LTP by means of co-path interferometer with pencil light beam. The instrument not only can be used for testing slope error of mirrors in Lab. also in situation test the distortion of mirror with high heat load at synchrotron light beam line. The device can be used to test various absolute surface figures of optical elements such as aspherieal  spherical and plane. It is needless standard reference surface. It is named by LTP-III. This paper describes its basic operating principle  optical system  mechanical constructions  DC serve motor control system  array detector  data acquisition system and computer system for controlling and data analysis of LTP-III. The Instrument has advantages of high accuracy  low cost  multifunction and wide application. Length of surface measured of optical element accuracy is 0.04 arcsec.

Reaction Bonded (RB) SiC mirrors due to their excellent specific stiffness and thermal properties have been widely used in space telescopes. However  polishing large SiC aspherical mirrors is difficult compared to other materials such as fused silica or Zerodu. In addition  surface roughness of the polished SiC mirrors is limited by the defects of the materials and needs to be improved by means of surface coating technique. This paper introduces the current progress of large SiC aspherical mirrors manufacturing and testing in CIOMP. In particular  the procedures of making large off-axis aspherical mirrors were discussed in detail. A proprietary computer controlled optical surfacing (CCOS) technique was utilized to grind and polish the mirrors and the computer aided null test was used to measure the surface figure. As results  a 600mm class off-axis SiC aspherical mirrors was demonstrated with figure error less than 13nm rms.
