Infrared image offers the main advantage over visible image of being invariant to illumination changes for face recognition. In this paper
based on the introduction of main methods of linear subspace analysis
such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA)
Linear Discriminant Analysis(LDA) and Fast Independent Component Analysis (FastICA)
the application of these methods to the recognition of infrared face images offered by OTCBVS workshop are investigated
and the advantages and disadvantages are compared. Experimental results show that the combination approach of PCA and LDA leads to better classification performance than single PCA approach or LDA approach
while the FastICA approach leads to the best classification performance with the improvement of nearly 5% compared with the combination approach. 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Template matching is the process of searching the present and the location of a reference image or an object in a scene image. Template matching is a classical problem in a scene analysis: given a reference image of an object
decide whether that object exists in a scene image under analysis
and find its location if it does. The template matching process involves cross-correlating the template with the scene image and computing a measure of similarity between them to determine the displacement. The conventional matching method used the spatial cross-correlation process which is computationally expensive. Some algorithms are proposed for this speed problem
such as pyramid algorithm
but it still can't reach the real-time for bigger model image. Moreover
the cross-correlation algorithm can't be effective when the object in the image is rotated. Therefore
the conventional algorithms can't be used for practical purpose. In this paper
an algorithm for a rotation invariant template matching method based on different value circular projection target tracking algorithm is proposed. This algorithm projects the model image as circular and gets the radius and the sum of the same radius pixel value. The sum of the same radius pixel value is invariable for the same image and the any rotated angle image. Therefore
this algorithm has the rotation invariant property. In order to improve the matching speed and get the illumination invariance
the different value method is combined with circular projection algorithm. This method computes the different value between model image radius pixel sum and the scene image radius pixel sum so that it gets the matching result. The pyramid algorithm also is been applied in order to improve the matching speed. The high speed hardware system also is been design in order to meet the real time requirement of target tracking system. The results show that this system has the good rotate invariance and real-time property.

This paper describes a kind of automatic test technology of the parameters used in a dual-CCD TV measure-system (TV -MS) .The TV -MS is the ground control equipment of the anti-tank missile and integrates the technologies of optical
machine and electronics. It is important and key component. The main technical parameters of the TV -MS are field of view
zero point
precision
sensitivity
anti-jamming ability
zooming time and focus time
etc. To insure the TV -MS satisfying the tactical and technical requirements and discover fault and reason
a fast and accurate equipment satisfying the test technical parameters of the TV -MS is urgently needed in manufacture and service. Firstly
the parameter test system converted optical signal to electronic signal
implemented automatic control of the invariant illumination of parallel pipeline output. Secondly
data and command delivering
displaying or printing are realized by using 80C196KB. The experiment result shows that the approach of automatic testing of the Parameters used in a dual-CCD TV -MS is successful and it can be used for all tests of the functions and parameters of the TV -MS. The main innovations are to realize the fast
veracious measure of technical parameters of the dual-CCD TV-MS
and integrate the technologies of optics
machineries and electronics. An advanced means is provided to judge the technical states
find malfunctions and discover the reasons in producing and maintaining process. The equipment suited for anti-tank missile systems is given.
