Astrophysics - High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena  Abstract: Insight-HXMT is the first Chinese X-ray astronomical mission, launched successfully on June 15, 2017, from China's Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. Insight-HXMT was designed to have a broad energy coverage in X-rays, from 1-250 keV, with excellent timing and adequate energy resolution at soft X-rays, and the largest effective area at hard X-rays. This allows, in particular, to observe bright sources like X-ray binaries (XRBs) in their bright/outburst states with high cadence and high statistics at hard and soft X-rays at once. It was then expected that the Insight-HXMT mission will bring us new insights regarding the characteristics of several source classes. Examples include characterizing High-Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXBs) and the outburst evolution of Low-Mass X-ray Binaries (LMXBs). For instance, in HMXB systems, the region around their Alfven radius that is responsible to determine whether accretion or propeller occurs, or the region around the NS magnetic pole where the intense X-rays are supposed to be produced are specially appealing targets of study. For the LMXBs, the evolution the outburst and the properties of the compact objects themselves are obvious priority targets for Insight-HXMT. Due to the broad coverage in energy, Insight-HXMT is specially well suited to study the influence of thermonuclear (type-I) X-ray bursts upon the surrounding environment.

Ground-based infrared imaging tracking system (GIITS) is of great importance for aerial target warning and guard. The operating range is one of the key performance specifications  on the other  which should be calculated  calculate the radiation power received on the detector in order to analysis whether the output signal meets the detection requirements or not  analyzed and studied during the whole GIITS design process. The operating range is mostly influenced by a few factors  without considering the effect of the background radiation. By improving of the traditional method  including atmospheric attenuation  a new operating range calculation model of the GIITS was established based on two requirements. One is that the image size of observed target should meet the requirement of the processor signal extraction. The number of the pixel occupied by target image should be more than 9. The other is that the signal noise ratio (SNR) of the GIITS should not be less than 5 to meet the requirements of the target detection probability and spatial frequency. The SNR calculation equation in form of energy is deduced and the radiation characteristic of the observed target and background are analyzed. When evaluate the operating range of the GIITS using the new method  the performance of GIITS and feature of target and background. This paper firstly makes analysis and summarization on the definite localizations of the traditional operating range equation of the GIITS. The localizations are mainly in two aspects. On one hand  we should successively calculate two operating range values according to two requirements mentioned above and choose the minimum value as the analytic result. In the end  the dispersion of the image and the effect of image dispersion are not considered in the traditional method  an evaluation of operating range for fighter aircraft is accomplished as an example. The influence factors in every aspect on operating range were explored by the calculated result. The new operating range calculation model provides the theoretical basis for the design and applications as well as the comprehensive evaluation of a GIITS. 2011 Copyright Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).

In order to realize miniaturization and light weight of the strap-down inertial navigation system  and then to make sure that it works well under random loads  optimal design is applied to the strap-down inertial navigation support with the methods of topology optimization and size optimization. Firstly  based on the installation requirement of devices and connection requirement of the support and the carrier  the initial structure of the support is designed. Topology optimization with FEA software ANSYS is adopted on the initial structure to get the basic one. Then 5 critical sizes are chosen as design variables  and the support structure is optimized by means of size optimization to reach light weight with satisfying the requirement of dynamic stiffness. Finally  random vibration analysis is applied to the initial structure. In the mean time  random vibration test is carried out to qualify the analysis method. After the qualification  a random vibration analysis is applied to the optimized support structure to get the rms of displacement response and acceleration response of the support to validate whether the optimized structure is appropriate. The results indicate that the dynamic stiffness of the optimized support structure satisfies the design requirements  and its weight is lighter 49.38% than that of the initial one. This research can be a reference to the structure design of supports under random loads  and the result has been applied to the development and manufacture of a prototype aerocraft. 2010 IEEE.

This paper proposes a method for calculating the multi-exposure times fast and accurately when the scene has a high dynamic range  minimizing the pictures needed to take and improving the dynamic range of the CCD system. The proposed method first measures the camera's response function referring [10]. After that the median value of the output picture is adjusted to be in the middle range of the system output by changing the exposure time. It can be inferred from the histogram of the current picture whether it's a high dynamic range scene by calculating the number of pixels under exposed and over exposed. Once again the under and over exposed pixels are adjusted to be in the middle according to the camera's response function. Finally different exposed pictures (2 or 3) are fused together by Gaussian function and the dynamic range is compressed by y correction. Experimental results on UNIQ-UM400 analog camera and a digital acquisition system show that the algorithm works well and solve the problem of low dynamic range of CCD camera. 2010 IEEE.

With the increasing demands for the agility of the next earth imaging satellite  control moment gyro (CMG) is considered to be the most suitable actuator because of its torque amplification capability. However  a CMG system may introduce uncertainty of inertia dyadic to a satellite's attitude control system. The uncertainty is negligible for large space vehicles  but it has not been tested whether it can be ignored for small agile satellites. How to model the CMG system inertia dyadic varying with gimbal angles  and what influence it will put on the performance of attitude control system haven't been test accurately as well. All of them are dealt with mathematically and accurately in this paper. This paper firstly gives mathematic descriptions of the inertia dyadic of the 4-CMG pyramid configuration system  varying with gimbal angles  and then designs a variable structure control law for small agile satellite using CMGs. Finally  numerical simulation suggests that the inertia dyadic variation of a 4-CMG pyramid configuration system is approximately centesimal of the total inertia dyadic of the satellite  and that the designed variable structure control law is of good robust performance for an example of large-angle attitude maneuver  despite of the variation of the inertia dyadic. 2010 IEEE.

A set special detecting system is proposed based on TDICCD push-broom technology applying in dynamic imaging detecting experiment of space optics remote sensor. In the system  In the course of detecting  push-broom movement of the satellite is simulated through using double supporting U structure precision rotary platform with remote sensor by angular speed 0.555/s  regard Nyquist frequency target as detecting aim  within the range of 5 and control precision on steady speed achieves 0.3%  in order to solve matching uncertainty between the CCD pixel and the vertical target strip image when the remote sensor does push-broom  make matching simplify  enhance the measurement result the accuracy. So the tolerance a/n arithmetic progression gap target strip is joined in each group of rectangular vertical group target strip. The remote sensor obtains in vertical  the level and 45 the direction 0 fields of view  0.86 the field of view Nyquist frequency target strip image after detected  a group target strip which can precision matching to TDICCD pixel at least can be obtained through analysis and dealing with 0.86 field of view's target strip image. The experiment not only verifies the detecting system's feasibility but simultaneously verifies whether to have the high quality dynamic imaging quality when TDICCD push-broom technology is adopted on the remote sensor developed. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

An effective tracking method is proposed to solve the problem that the electro-optical tracking system in Missile Range easily loses the real target during the target separation. Before target separation  the error correcting value of the theoretical trajectory is obtained by the theoretical trajectory correcting algorithm. In the phase of target separation  the theoretical trajectory of the target is corrected by the error correcting value firstly  and then the fuzzy clustering association algorithm is applied to calculate the similarity between the measuring data of the target from sensors and the corrected theoretical trajectory. The similarity helps to identify whether the measured data is from the real target or not. Experimental results show that the authenticity of the target can be determined effectively. The identified results can be used as the decision-making basis of the servo sub-system and TV trackers  which can improve the continuous tracking probability of the electro-optical tracking system in the target separation. 2010 IEEE.
