Using of SIFT algorithm in the image of teeth model  can detect the features of the teeth image effectively. In this approach  first  search over all scales and image locations by using a difference-of-Gaussian function to identify potential interest points that are invariant to scale and orientation. Second  select keypoints based on measures of their stability and a detailed model is fit to determine location and scale at each candidate location. Third  assign one or more orientations to each keypoint location based on local image gradient directions. Last  measure the local image gradients at the selected scale in the region around each keypoint. And then use the KNN algorithm to match the features. Through lots of experiments and comparing with other feature extraction methods  this method can detect the features of the teeth model effectively  and offer some available parameters for 3D reconstruction of the teeth model. the authors.

In the field of robot vision  edge feature based stereo matching algorithm can reconstruct the targets with clear contours  which needs accurate and continuous target edges been extracted. In the paper  the smoothing filter operator was designed based on the discrete criteria of edge extraction and its correspondence optimal linear filter. Edge extraction was carried out incorporated the nonmaximum suppression and two thresholds techniques. The discrete criteria based multi-scale edge extraction method was studied with full use of the multi-scale character of the edge information. The detected multi-scale edges were synthesized to obtain the accurate and continuous single pixel wide edge. Then an edge feature based stereo matching algorithm was proposed to obtain 3D information of target. The experimental results demonstrate that the method can effectively suppress disturbance in outdoor environment and reconstruct target contour clearly. (2011) Trans Tech Publications.

Accurate surgical planning and guidance plays an important role in successful implementation of image guided intervention. In interventional lung cancer diagnosis and treatments  precise segmentation of airway trees from lung CT images provides crucial visualization for preoperative planning and intraoperative guidance to avoid major trachea injury. While 3D region growing can segment main the parts of an airway tree (trachea  left and right main bronchus  as well as bronchi)  the method fails at bronchiole segmentation and is not robust. Mathematical morphology is an anatomical detective. In this paper  we propose a morphological gradient based region growing (MGRG) algorithm to overcome the intensity inhomogeneity  and improve the robustness of 3D region growing on extraction of bronchioles. The MGRG algorithm is validated using lung CT images  and results show that it is able to segment bronchioles  and outperforms the traditional region growing method on airway tree segmentation. 2011 IEEE.

In order to research the attitude algorithm with angular rate input under the conical motion  a optimal threesample rotation vector algorithm based on single-step Newton backward interpolation is proposed. Using the principle of limited rigid body rotation and the characteristic of angular rate input  three-sample rotation vector algorithm is derivated. To minimum attitude errors  three-sample rotation vector algorithm is optimized. Three angular rate extraction methods of singlestep entire sample recursion  multi-step entire sample and singlestep Newton backward interpolation are proposed. Under the condition of conical motion with semi-cone angle 3 and angular frequency 2rad/s  simulation is done. The simulation results show that single-step Newton backward interpolation is superior to the other two methods  and its maximum error peak is 0.01  error drift rate is 0.036/h. Experiments in three-axis flying turntable with the same parameters are carried out  and the results show that error drift rates of three-channels are less than those of traditional quaternion  which are 13.53%  12.08% and 23.68% lower respectively. It also verified that the new algorithm can perform a high accuracy under the conical motion. 2011 IEEE.

Sea-sky-line extraction under complicated sea-sky background is an important aspect of long-range target tracking research. An algorithm based on improved local complexity is proposed according to the feature that the sky and the sea usually show up at different gray levels in sea-sky background images. Median filter is applied first to remove peak noise  and then the point set of sea-sky-line region which has the greatest change in image is obtained by calculating the local complexity of image and selecting a segmentation threshold. Finally  Hough transform is used to extract the sea-sky-line. The experiment results indicate that this method can extract sea-sky-line under simple and complicated sea-sky backgrounds  which is robust and can improve noise immunity of the algorithm. 2010 IEEE.

Scene matching under complex background is a priority and difficulty in the field of computer vision  it has the characteristics of rotation and scaling invariance  commonly used in matching real-time collected images and photos for navigation. Scene matching techniques are faced with complex natural scenes  anti-light and anti-slight-distortion  the image distortion exist  applicable for complex scene matching. The project has a new idea: combining the keylines with the vectors description based on polar image translation  such as light  and utilize the rotation-scale-invariance vectors to describe the extracted keylines  change of gray levels  this method includes three steps: keylines extraction  perspective  description and matching.
