To improve the navigation performance of the spacecraft during interplanetary cruise  a novel integrated navigation system is proposed. For X-ray pulsar navigation (XNAV) is a hot and prospective research subject  and the optical navigation using asteroids is practical in space engineering  we designed an autonomous navigation system using one X-ray detector and one navigation camera. The measurement models of the XNAV based on the time difference of arrival and the optical navigation based on the images of asteroids are presented. To enhance practicality  the X-ray pulsars and asteroids are observed by turns. The batch least square filter  used by Deep Space I  is adopted to estimate the system state. The numerical simulation results show that the integrated navigation is feasible on the interplanetary cruise orbit. Moreover  compared with the XNAV and the optical navigation  the integrated navigation system can provide higher navigation performance.

Currently  the IR cameras are broadly used in the optic-electronic tracking  optic-electronic measuring  fire control and optic-electronic countermeasure field  but the output sequence of the most presently applied IR cameras in the project is complex and the giving sequence documents from the leave factory are not detailed. Aiming at the requirement that the continuous image transmission and image procession system need the detailed sequence of the IR cameras  the sequence measurement system of the IR camera is designed  and the detailed sequence measurement way of the applied IR camera is carried out. The FPGA programming combined with the SignalTap online observation way has been applied in the sequence measurement system  and the precise sequence of the IR camera's output signal has been achieved  the detailed document of the IR camera has been supplied to the continuous image transmission system  image processing system and etc. The sequence measurement system of the IR camera includes CameraLink input interface part  LVDS input interface part  FPGA part  CameraLink output interface part and etc  thereinto the FPGA part is the key composed part in the sequence measurement system. Both the video signal of the CmaeraLink style and the video signal of LVDS style can be accepted by the sequence measurement system  and because the image processing card and image memory card always use the CameraLink interface as its input interface style  the output signal style of the sequence measurement system has been designed into CameraLink interface. The sequence measurement system does the IR camera's sequence measurement work and meanwhile does the interface transmission work to some cameras. Inside the FPGA of the sequence measurement system  the sequence measurement program  the pixel clock modification  the SignalTap file configuration and the SignalTap online observation has been integrated to realize the precise measurement to the IR camera. Te sequence measurement program written by the verilog language combining the SignalTap tool on line observation can count the line numbers in one frame  pixel numbers in one line and meanwhile account the line offset and row offset of the image. Aiming at the complex sequence of the IR camera's output signal  the sequence measurement system of the IR camera accurately measures the sequence of the project applied camera  supplies the detailed sequence document to the continuous system such as image processing system and image transmission system and gives out the concrete parameters of the fval  lval  pixclk  line offset and row offset. The experiment shows that the sequence measurement system of the IR camera can get the precise sequence measurement result and works stably  laying foundation for the continuous system. 2011 Copyright Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).

The paper designs a driving circuit of high sensitive  wide dynamic and high signal-to-noise ratio for binocular CCD imaging system which adopts a Dalsa-made high resolution full-frame 33-mega pixels area CCD FTF5066M. Inner structure and driving timing of the FTF5066M sensor are presented. Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is used as the main device to accomplish the timing design of the circuits and power driver control of the two sensors. By using the Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) technique  the video noise is reduced and the SNR of the system is increased. A 12- bit A/D converter is used to improve the image quality. The output rate of the imaging system designed with integrated chip can reach to 1.3 frames per second through bi-channel. For its good performance  low power consumption and small volume  the driving system can be applied to aeronautics and astronautics field. With a further improvement  a maximum data output rate of 2.7 frames per second can be reached through all the eight channels of the two CCDs. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

The Timing Generator's functions of Scientific Grade CCD Camera is briefly presented: it generates various kinds of impulse sequence for the TDI-CCD  video processor and imaging data output  acting as the synchronous coordinator for time in the CCD imaging unit. The IL-E2TDI-CCD sensor produced by DALSA Co.Ltd. use in the Scientific Grade CCD Camera. Driving schedules of IL-E2 TDI-CCD sensor has been examined in detail  the timing generator has been designed for Scientific Grade CCD Camera. FPGA is chosen as the hardware design platform  schedule generator is described with VHDL. The designed generator has been successfully fulfilled function simulation with EDA software and fitted into XC2VP20-FF1152 (a kind of FPGA products made by XILINX). The experiments indicate that the new method improves the integrated level of the system. The Scientific Grade CCD camera system's high reliability  stability and low power supply are achieved. The azimuth bearing schemes in typical large Alt-azimuth telescopes  especially the 3.5-m APO telescope and the 4.1-m SOAR telescope were analyzed. A scheme of high-angular contacted thrust ball bearing integrated with a radial ball bearing was put forward. According to the Hertz contact theory  the corresponding parameters were designed for engineering application. The static performance parameters  within the range of 60 85 original contact angle were calculated. Compared with the traditional plane thrust ball bearing  the results shows that the high-angular (80) contact thrust ball bearing has more benefits at bearing strength and rigidity for large telescope. The 1500mm diameter prototyping bearing shows good performance  including the axial jitter is 0.009mm  the radial jitter is 0.006mm  the maximum starting torque without load is 30N·m  and the load capacity is more than 30t  which offers advanced technique path for the buildup of the high precision azimuth shafting and the whole telescope system. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

An imaging system with three-waveband sharing one lens and an area CCD was developed. By rotating different filters into the beam path  the required waveband was selected. The optical system which can image in ultraviolet  visible and near infrared region was designed and the signal collecting system was integrated. The optical design and system integration have some advantages such as low cost  small size and light in weight. To obtain a high imaging quality  the radiation calibration is carried out in order to establish the relation between the average grey level of output image and the input radiance from the integrating sphere. According to the calibration data in experiments  the radiation dynamic range and the best working point of the system are determined. The experiment result shows that the dynamic range of the image system is maximal when the exposure time is 8ms in ultraviolet  0.5ms in visible and 0.125ms in near infrared region. 2010 IEEE.
