In order to determination of cholesterol in human serum with no reagent using nearinfrared (NIR) spectroscopy. Interval partial least square (iPLS) was proposed as an effective variable selection approach for multivariate calibration. For this purpose  an independent sample set was employed to evaluate the prediction ability of the resulting model. The spectrum was split into different interval. Then  the informative region of cholesterol (1688-1760nm)  in which the PLS model has a low RMSEP with 0.241mmol/L and a high R with 0.975  is selected with 23 intervals. The results indicate that  the informative region of cholesterol can be obtained by iPLS and applied to design the simpler reagentless NIR instruments for inexpensive cholesterol measurement in future. To study the action of shock wave in CH target  one-dimensional grazing incidence KBA microscope for 4.75keV energy was set up. Because of strong absorption in air  4.75keV energy microscope can just work in vacuum. Accordingly  the alignment and assemblage will be very complicated and difficult. A special multilayer method  using double periodic multilayer  was proposed to solve this problem. This multilayer has high reflectivity not only for 4.75keV X-rays but also for 8keV X-rays at the same grazing incidence angle. It means 1D-KBA microscope has the same light trace for different working energies. Therefore  we can implement the alignment and assembly of 4.75keV system by the help of 8keV X-rays. Because 8keV X-rays is very easy produced by X-ray tube and has strong transmittability in air  the alignment and assemblage process became relatively easy. By now  we have finished the alignment experiment at 8keV and obtained imaging results. The performance is about 2-3m resolution in 250m field of view. It is coincide with the calculation. 2009 SPIE.

The data quantity of remote sensing image is very large. Furthermore  the lowest frequency subband contains the main energy of original image and reflects the coarse of original image after remote sensing image is transformed by wavelet  so it is very important to the reconstructed image. Therefore a hybrid image compression method based on Listless Zerotree Coding (LZC) and DPCM is presented  namely  the lowest frequency subband is compressed by DPCM and others are compressed by LZC. LZC is a kind of zerotree coding algorithm for hardware implementation  which is based on SPIHT and substitutes two significant bit maps for three lists in SPIHT algorithm. Thereby LZC significantly reduces the memory requirement and complexity during encoding and decoding procedure. But LZC doesn't recognize the significance of grandchild sets  so the PSNR values of LZC are lower than SPIHT's and the compression speed drops. It is improved by adding a significant bit map that recognizes the significance of grandchild sets. A comparison reveals that the PSNR results of the hybrid compression method are 2 dB higher than those of LZC  and the compression speed is also improved.

In this paper  we propose a segmentation method of CR(computed radiography) images with being rid of under-segmentation and over-segmentation. An under-segmentation occurs when pixels belonging to different objects are grouped into a single region. Such errors are the most dangerous because they can invalidate the whole segmentation process. The phenomenon always takes place when we segment CR images because of the principle of CR. In order to depressed under-segmentation  we enhance the CR images using DWT (discrete wavelet transform) to get more detail of CR image features. As we enhance the CR image  the over-segmentation maybe occurs. Compared with under-segmentation  the over-segmentation occurs when a single objects is subdivided by segmentation into several region. For the purpose of preventing from the over-segmentation  we present a scheme for enhanced CR images based on watershed algorithm that solves over-segmentation problem. We use marker-based watershed algorithm. Together with gradient image and marker image  watershed segmentation can make sure to partition CR image into meaningful object and avoid further segmentation of homogeneous regions. The result of the proposed algorithm are compared with those of other standard methods. Experiments have shown a better result and indeed solved under-segmentation and over-segmentation problems.
