A set of ZnO films of different thickness have been deposited on sapphire substrates using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) by varying the growth time and the effect of film thickness on the structural
electrical and optical properties have been investigated. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicate that the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the (002) diffraction peak is decreased as the film thickness increasing
and the stress along c-axis is stable. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) measurement shows that the grains become more uniform as the film grows thicker and the film surface present distinct hexagon shape as the film is grown up to a thickness of 500nm. The optical absorbance

SrTiO3:Pr3+ phosphors with different morphologies were prepared by using high-temperature solid-state reaction
the solvothermal method and sol-gel synthesis. All the products were systematically characterized by powder x-ray diffraction (XRD)

Aligned Sb-doped ZnO nanocolumns were synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. Based on the analyses of the X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence result
it could be confirmed that the Sb has successfully doped in the ZnO crystal lattices to form an accepter energy level. At 85 K
the recombination of the acceptor-bound exciton was predominant in PL spectrum
which was attributed to the transition of the (SbZn-2VZn) complex bound exciton. The acceptor binding energy had been calculated to be 123 meV. 2009 Published by Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
